A legacy of values-based education since 1961
Our story begins in the 1960s with Mrs. Buvana Krishnan, a bold and courageous woman from Chennai who envisioned a bright future for the young minds of India. Though born into a financially modest yet highly conservative family, she devoted herself to the empowerment of women and to educating children from every section of society.
An active member of the Lioness Club, the All India Women's Association, and the Royapettah Magalir Manram, she founded a children's school with nursery and primary sections in 1961. Through her hard work, perseverance, and the support of parents and teachers, it was recognised as a Matriculation School by the University of Madras in 1974, and upgraded to a Higher Secondary School by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1978.
The institution expanded across the region, opening its Kelambakkam branch in 1988 - named, like the founder, Bhuvana Krishnan. Today, under the able guidance of our Correspondent Mrs. Vedha Srinivasan, the school continues to nurture confident, compassionate, and capable young citizens.

The Founding
Mrs. Buvana Krishnan establishes a children's school in Chennai with nursery and primary sections.
Matriculation Recognition
The school is recognised as a Matriculation School by the University of Madras.
Higher Secondary Status
Upgraded to a Higher Secondary School by the Government of Tamil Nadu (S.V.M.H.S.S).
Kelambakkam Branch
The Bhuvana Krishnan branch opens in Kelambakkam, named in honour of the founder.
Continued Growth
A further branch is established at Tiruporur, extending the founder's vision.
